Obituary of Leanne C. Kavanagh

Please share a memory of Leanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Quietly at her home, by brain cancer after a courageous 3 year battle, at the age of 47 with her husband David by her side. Leanne was the very model of kindness, grace and dignity. Through this difficult journey Leanne was cared for by many who helped her carry her cross whenever they could. I would like to extend my gratitude to all including these people, her sisters Lynn Diseri (Armando), and Lois Haley (John), my sisters Giselle Bodkin (Kevin), Maureen Kavanagh (Mike), Jan (Steve) Brooks, Dr. Perry and his team esp. Denise at Sunnybrook, Dr. Tillmann, Lucy from the County of Simcoe, Dana, Debi, and Wendy from Revera, Angelique from Bayshore, Ruth from CCAC, all of Leanne’s co-workers at Trillium Manor in Orillia, Al (Debbie) Walker, Ed (Sharon) Bourque and last but not least my father Joe Kavanagh, who I can never repay his love and devotion to his daughter-in-law. I would like to share some comments written by a well respected physician, Dr. Harry Hall, MD: “Super Nurse” is what you are Leanne, the embodiment of what nurses should all be, kind, knowledgeable and organized. At the same time, by example you set a tone that permeates Trillium Manor and is largely responsible for the atmosphere of “caring” that is characteristic of the house. Here the whole world (stars, water, air, And field, and forest, as they were Reflected in a single mind) Like cast off clothes was left behind In ashes, yet with hopes that she, Re-born from holy poverty, In Lenten lands, hereafter may Resume them on her Easter Day The family will honour Leanne’s life with a visitation at the COLDWATER FUNERAL HOME, Coldwater from 2-5pm Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Waubaushene on Friday April 17th at 11am. Interment St. John’s R.C. Cemetery, Waubaushene. As an expression of sympathy in memory of Leanne a random act of kindness would be appreciated by the family.
